Riverwood Middle School would like to announce our 2023-2024 Teacher of the Year - Ms. Defries. Congratulations! Ms. Defries is a 6th grade Science teacher and has been teaching at RMS for 7 years. Here are few things our students, teachers and community had to say about Ms. Defries.
Libby has such an amazing attitude. She always has a smile ready for her students and her coworkers. She has worked tirelessly this year to make new curriculum for the 6th grade science students at our school and throughout the district. I admire her work ethic and her ability to relate with all types of students.
She makes science fun! My child already loved science but it has been so fun to watch it grow so much more this year!
She creates a safe classroom for her students in science. She works late to make sure her lessons are interactive and had to implement new TEKS for 6th Grade Science. She is an awesome team lead and challenges her students to do their best each day.
